Falling in love is scary and the poem reflects this. There are no itemizations but only idealizations of the person. When people give you unwanted advice its almost like an interruption in matters. They give you an image of how this person is supposed to be but it’s impossible because no one knows what really lies in your heart, mind or soul.
You say to yourself I guess I’m falling
It’s happening
Sometimes you think you’re hitting rock bottom
Because you’re bare and slightly scared
And you keep telling yourself don’t dare.
They say you’re foolish,
What are you thinking
You’re sinking
But you’re not.
They itemize the ideal person
For you
It’s an intrusion
Maybe an illusion.
Then unexpectedly that person catches you
You don’t fall
You begin to fly
And can’t deny
What’s inside.
So you begin to
Battle the fights outside your mind
So you ignore
And close doors
To those who once tried to explore and score
